A flame colored she-cat scrambled out of the river at PondClan's border and pulled herself onto shore. She was soaking wet and exhausted. "Someone... please help..." she mewed. Her voice was hoarse and her lungs screamed for air. She took a few deep breaths but that only made her throat hurt more. When she coughed, she spat up water and blood. She curled herself into a ball and shivered. Her whole body was trembling... *Am I going to die...?* she thought miserably.

A cool wind ruffled Ivypaw's fur and she shivered. She opened her eyes and looked around. Jaypaw was soundly asleep in the nest next to hers and the moon was glowing above. This was Ivypaw's chance. Her chance to get away without teary goodbyes or meaningless persuasions in an attempt to make her stay. Trying to be as quiet as she could, Ivypaw rose from her nest and padded out of the Apprentices den. She took one last look around camp and closed her eyes before bounding outside. -Is this what you really want?- a voice seemed to ask her as she raced through the PondClan's forest toward the border. -Do you really want to leave the home you've known for so long? To leave the family that's loved you and shall love you no matter where you are or what you do?- Ivypaw shook the thoughts away, and the tears that began to form in her eyes. She didn't want to be a Clan cat and that was final... she had made her decision and now she was carrying it out. When she reached the river her heart was racing and she gasped for air. The tears were flowing by now, like rivers of sorrow and she didn't try to stop them. Taking in a gulp of air, she waded into the freezing water and disappeared into the night...

(( Yeah, I know, sad, huh? It was bound to happen, though... Anyway, the first person to reply has to make it morning. ))
